Altered Calendar TIP!

I have been madly altering those dollar store pocket calendars with the plastic sleeve cover. And, once in a while, the calendar is hard to slip back in the sleeve and the sleeve buckles the calendar so it doesn't lay flat. It's annoying! But, here's a tip - use your HAIR DRYER (NOT your heat embossing gun) to heat the plastic cover. Smooth and flatten with your hand as you run the hair dryer (on the hottest setting) over the plastic. It will soften the plastic and allow you to stretch it enough to make the book flat.

I just did a larger desk-sized one and it was REALLY crunched when I slipped it back in the sleeve and this took care of it so it lays flat.

If you haven't tried these - they are GREAT gifts for teachers or friends or grandparents and they take about 20 minutes to whip up. Just don't put lumpy stuff on them. Everything should be pretty flat.

Kim these are great... I have been doing the same however I've been altering various other size calendars that I have gotten from the dollar store. I have them in pocket sized, a medium sized and a much larger sized calendar. I alter them on sell them on eBay. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could take the time to swing by my blogspot and tell me what you think. With your expertise your comments would be greatly appreciated!!! HAPPY SCRAPPING!!
