Patriotic Serendipity Embellishments

Image and video hosting by <span class=
I admit that I LOVE Serendipity Squares. There's just something fun about them. I especially love them decked out in red, white and blue! So, yesterday, I pulled out my drawer full of scraps (boy, do I have too many!), picked out my patriotic scraps and went to work! I found some stickers, some flag embellishments from both Leaving Prints and Top Line Creations (remember them?), and some red, white and blue clippings from magazines that my mom gave me (yes, my mom's a "clipper"). I even managed to dig out my old star punch and use a really ancient alphabet template (confession... I don't own a Cricut or even a Sizzix - scandalous, I know...)

I pulled out a glue stick and went to work and the result was a set of patriotic embellishments that I'll put magnets on and stick on my fridge.

Let your kids make some serendipity embellishments for you from your scrap pile. It will keep them busy for a while and you'll have some fun things to use on your layouts when they go back to school! You really can't mess them up!

I've never heard of a serendipity square. But it sounds totally fun! Like a cute little collage! Thank you for sharing this.

Nice! Hey, I don't own a Cricut, Sizzix or a Quickcut. So many of my friends do so why should I :D

Nice work!

You should all really try them. They are fun to make and a great way to use up scraps. I'm not sure you could cut through the thickness with a Cricut, but I bet you could punch cute star shapes with your Sizzix. They are an easy embellishment with a lot of texture and interest.
